Got questions? I might have some answers.

How do I get started?

You may contact me directly at (510) 616-4493 or by scheduling a free consult. You can expect to hear back from me within 48 business hours.

I respect and safeguard your privacy and will never disclose your contact information to anyone. By using my contact link, you acknowledge that the contents of your form will be sent to Luisa Mancera and understand that you should not use it to provide any protected health information.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please contact the crisis support services of Alameda County at www.crisissupport.org or (510) 420-2460.

How often will we meet?

Therapy goes best with regular, consistent sessions. To start off, you can expect to meet with me once a week for 50- or 75-minute sessions. As we progress, we may decrease session frequency or increase it if additional support is needed.

How much does it cost?

My fees are consistent with those of other Psychotherapists in the Bay Area. I hold a few reduced-fee spots and if I am able to provide reduced fees for services I will. Please contact me directly to inquire about fees.

All reduced-fee spots are currently full. For a list of low-fee clinics around the Bay Area, here is a comprehensive overview.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance, but it may be possible for you to be reimbursed by your insurance provider for our sessions as I am an out-of-network provider. Please call your company to find out:

  1. Your deductible

  2. What percentage of the fee they will reimburse to you. This option may make therapy with me more affordable for you.

Do you work in any other languages?

I offer sessions in both English and Spanish.

What is your cancellation policy?

I do my best to offer a consistent, reliable meeting time for us at the same time and day each week. Therefore, clients are expected to attend each scheduled session on time. If you’re running late, let me know. A session that is delayed by 10 or more minutes with no prior notice will be considered a no-show and you will be charged your normal fee. If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice for any session, you will be charged your normal fee, unless we can reschedule within the same business week.

In addition, my policy permits four (4) missed sessions per calendar year with 48 hours notice. If you miss more than four (4) sessions per calendar year, you will still be charged your usual fee for any additional missed sessions (even if you cancel your session with 48 hours’ notice). This is in addition to any time I may take off from treatment (usually 4 weeks per year).
